every autumn i replay the Quest for Glory series, and every single time i find something new in one of them

today's find: using the mouth verb on the fireplace in the Hero's Tale Inn produced this puzzling parser reply

.... until i realized it interpreted my action as "spit in fireplace" 🤣

A screenshot from Quest for Glory I: So You Want To Be a Hero. A hero character stands proudly in a faux tudor-style inn, with a katta (cat) cleaning himself. The mouth verb has been used on a fireplace burning warmly in the corner.

@vga256 This is very fun, but also by this measure you could accuse every ‘talk’ interaction as the player trying to bite/lick/kiss/spit on people. And this is why text parsers are better than verb icons! : D

@ThreeOhFour i love that they took the time to actually bother with something interesting! it's more of a space quest joke, and it adds even more flavour because of the contrast

@vga256 I actually think that QFG is kind of very varied, tonally. Lots of fun Easter eggs and weird ideas. Like the weird idea that you want to play Codename: ICEMAN

@ThreeOhFour haha the early ones are great for that. it started to take itself a little seriously later on, and i loved the goofy tone of the first two
