    Trying to persuade myself to tune in at 4 AM tomorrow for a talk on "healthy information habits, the challenges of information overload, the influence of digital platforms and organisational environments on information use, and the role of information systems and knowledge organisation in creating healthier, more supportive information environments"

    @giflian
    Step 1: use an adblocker in all browsers
    Step 2: if you like microblogging/social media, use the Fediverse, choosing instances with good moderation
    If there are other steps, I don't know them! (which I suppose is why I should wake up early for the webinar)

    @nyhan I don't know who's giving the talk (obviously) but I'd assume most such talks don't mention fedi. Usually a blanket "all social media is bad" from news media, at least.

    I have tried to convince meatspace friends to join mastodon but they don't seem to believe what I say about it. Or they show up and get bored too quickly to build connections.

    @nyhan interesting bios. Being a librarian is way different than in my mom's time (my only reference).

    I wonder what their opinions on AI are.
