The “fantasy swearing is cringe” discourse is always funny.

Step outside your monolingual bubble, please.

People out there use weird, sounds-weird-in-English swear words while speaking English, ALL THE TIME.

Same goes for people who think that exclamations like “oh my gods” sound cringe.

    Bitch, please.

In my language, “Oh Lord-Fragrant Lord-Creator!” and “Oh Lord-of-my-sanctity!” are perfectly NORMAL exclamations.

@erkhyan Lexicon is shifting so much I’m surprised the more uptight folk don’t cringe themselves into oblivion.

I very clearly remember when the word “phat” was being commonly used.

Golly I hope it don’t make a comeback lol.

@erkhyan by fantasy swearing you mean like how spongebob characters say barnacles and dear neptune? I love when stories do that, it's fun.

@lalah The examples I hear the most are “Frak” in Battlestar Galactica and “Kriff”/“Dank Farrik”/“Karabast” in Star Wars, so maybe it should be “SFF swearing” instead.
