    ukraine blows up yandex data centers and right wing post engagement drops across social media in massive numbers

    so instead of trying to regulate social media so russia can't undermine democracies and promote fascism, politicians are more concerned with banning kids from it instead?

    nice priorities, idiots

    edit: apparently the russian bot farm stuff may have been some wishful thinking?

    @eniko Tbh that seems to have been some wishful disinfo, the actual stuff that dropped down was just standard web crawler activity for yandex search (obviously hosted by yandex servers)

    @eniko Oh yeah we have the freeze peach brigade making noise here because there's proposed laws they claim will be going after podcasters, tubers, etc.
    And like, yeah? The intent is to try and stymie the knowing pedlars of bullshit who've demonstrably affected society for the worse?

    @eniko

    Yup.
    While governments around the rest of the world are clutching their pearls about the danger of bots and trying to overcome the problem by insisting that people give up their personal details to use the internet, Zelensky rips the pearls from around his throat and throttles the source with them!!🤜🤛😎

    @eniko this should be undeniable proof of how large the russian troll/bot problem is. And that we need laws and infrastructure against that

    @eniko I mean the rich runs big social media and buys the politicians. They are about the only ones not being class traitors in the grand scheme of things.

    I assume that the bots will move to other data centers, because as per above the rich who owns the other data centers agree. So the reports will probably be all over the place (some will see a downtick, others not).

    Whatever anyone says, the bot farm stuff is definitely real. Even if it isn't true, it's top-notch propaganda for the side of good. If it *is* true, the other side has a vested interest in minimising its impact
