You can't reason about backpressure locally. You need to inspect the chain and potentially all function calls within a consumer -- and consequentially keep the amount of hops minimal to help reason about it.

Swift doesn't show backpressure; it's a property of the chain from producer to consumer to how it handles elements during its consumption.
