Oct 10, 2026, 7:32 AM#TNG S05E04, "Silicon Avatar". When faced with the need for human memories to complete his new android, Data, Dr. Noonian Soong created the Crystalline Entity in order to destructively digitize the colonists of Omicron Theta. In 2368, it responded to an emerging meet-cute by vacuuming up Zooey Deschanel.
Oct 12, 2026, 2:02 AM#TNG S05E05, "Disaster". It's "Try a New Kink Day" on the Enterprise. Counselor Troi, O'Brien, and Ro explore a poly Dom/sub relationship (Ro is the brat, naturally). Data does electro, Crusher and LaForge try extreme breath control, and Keiko continues to insist that fpreg is subversive.
Captain Picard, of course, quietly tortures himself by commanding a crew of terrified incompetents.
Oct 12, 2026, 2:13 AMRo really IS brat, when you get right down to it. That's kind of her whole character. I would watch a TNG remake with Charli XCX as Ensign Ro.
Oct 12, 2026, 2:16 AM#TNG S05E06, "The Game". Riker tries a new hypno file on Risa, and before long the whole crew is hooked.
@aphyr Oh, come on, Lefler's Law #47: You cannot discuss The Game without mentioning Ashley Judd.
@aphyr this episode stuck in my head as one of my early memories of what formed my hypno kink
Oct 13, 2026, 12:38 PM@aphyr S5E17, “outcast”. Riker is just a chaser, thats it, thats the plot
Oct 13, 2026, 12:47 PM@dangerdyke correct, but also one of my fav episodes for her monologue
Oct 13, 2026, 8:31 PM@aphyr @bootblackcub well. I lost.
@aphyr - I never liked the character of Ro Laren. I was like "I can't believe someone like her got to be a bridge crew on a Federation flagship when she clearly needed to be sent back to boot camp. I guess the writers thought Picard needed to be a crybabysitter." Plus, she clearly didn't want to be in Starfleet, and shonuff she ended up betraying it. Then 30 years later in "Star Trek Picard" they had her rub Picard's nose in it.
Don't get me started on the actress in "Battlestar Gallactica".
