The thing many people don't understand about discrimination is that it means you can never count on anything.
When straight white cis people order a cake, they get a cake.
When I order a cake, I might get a cake or I might waste hours and get nothing.
@LilahTovMoon I've tried to explain how much of my life is people wasting my time because they can and I've had people flat out just not believe me. The other day I needed to take a court order with me to pick my daughter up from school. She's 16, I'm pretty sure you could just ask her if I'm her mom :/

Discrimination never looks the way straight people assume it does. It's quiet, subtle, shadowy, and happens when they're not looking.
@LilahTovMoon Did not realize this about Costco. Everyone I know who has a membership raves, and I was beginning to feel like I should get one.

@dnkboston I have raved a bunch about Costco and it still might be the best retail experience out there, but at the moment I need to vent.
