lately I've been digging into one of my favorite hobbies from my past: scouring libraries for digitized old maps. here's an amazing one I found of the geology of NJ from 1950. #cartography

I especially love these horizontal cutaways where you can see the geological changes across the state. This one is a cutaway from Hoboken, New Jersey, right outside NYC, to Dingman's Ferry, a quiet town in the Appalachian mountains. (it's about an 90 minute drive apart)

@Nickiquote @joannecheng national library of Scotland has a ton of digitised old maps freely available, you can zoom in on an area and see what maps they have for that location, even side by side old vs new
