    @gumnos Yes, praying as having a teenager driving is scary.

    On the plus side, the test was passed on the first try, and not the 2nd or 3rd.. or 5th.

    @gumnos Congrats; a milestone for sure.

    My daughter was bent out of shape that I own a stick-shift, but she persevered and learned to drive a standard. Now it's a point of pride with her because very few of her friends can do that.

    @dfs_comedy hah, bravo to her. I've heard them referred to as "anti-Millennial theft devices" (or replace with whatever newer generation that hasn't been raised to drive stick)

    I learned stick as a teen and when I got my first car (a stick because they were notably cheaper at the time) my dad took me to our church parking-lot to practice. Then drove home in his car and said, "see ya at home." The gotcha was that the exit to the church parking-lot was an up-hill ~8% grade to a stop-sign at a modestly-trafficked road.

    Made it home safely, but talk about your trial by fire 😆

    @gumnos

    I'm going on a 7-hour road trip with my partner soon and he did not know how to drive stick. He's had a few lessons from me. I both love and hate the idea that he can share some of the driving with me; the goal is for me to relax while he drives... but that ain't gonna happen. 😛
