I've re-watched "The Butterfly Effect" (from 2004) , and I was surprised by the ending.

The reason is that, apparently, when I watched it about twenty years ago, I actually watched the director's cut, which has an alternate ending that I actually "like" more. Sure, it's way more sad, but it sort of makes sense
