    Yeah, that's one of the options I considered. But as I said, that's going to require a verification and possibly porting effort to deploy.

    @wfk @shrub900 at the risk of stating the obvious... don't you have to verify anyway, even if you continue to use rsync? Since you now have evidence that it definitely failed, I mean.

    @wfk @shrub900 for most cases it’s a drop-in replacement, the largest things it was missing last time I checked were --delay-updates and --delete-after. I’m intending to hack those into the codebase once I gather more spoons, hopefully I can get that upstreamed.

    @kaleissin

    When I read statements like that, my usual reaction is to think that I only use a sub-set of rsync's command-line arguments, so it is probably alright.

    The more important thing is that the project has been going since 2019 and has not had a single release yet. The author is still, this year, warning people that it should be considered under development.

    The README, which the author appears to be keeping up to date so this is not years-old stale information, is still saying that bringing in Apple's code is a work in progress.

    @shrub900 @wfk And so I learn that there is an alternative implemented. Feeling slightly more hopeful about this. Good.
