    @janl @danirabbit We're getting a steady stream of LLM-generated or assisted article pitches and now a bunch of pitches for "projects" created using LLMs. I doubt we're seeing as much nonsense as y'all are, but it is so draining.

    No. We don't want to publish something written by or assisted by your stochastic parrot.

    No. We're not going to write about a software project that you threw together with LLMs and will probably grow bored with when the novelty wears off and/or you run out of money for tokens.

    If there's one message LLM users need to hear very loudly, I think, it's this:

    "No, you didn't create this. You summoned it. Nobody asked you to, but you did it anyway. You aren't getting a cookie for it. Nobody will be proud of you for doing it. Go away."

    @jzb @janl @danirabbit

    More than summon it, they *paid* a slot machine to make it.

    When you want a house, you have two options:

    * You build it
    * You pay for it

    The thing is that, when you pay for it, you don't go around strutting your stuff saying you "made it". That is stupid.

    And when you pay for it, you don't suddenly aquire knowledge and experience about what it takes to make a house. You are, simply put, not good at making a house. You just have money.

    This applies to #GenAI as well.

    @glitchypixel hard agree on everything except them not saying they built it. Rich people widely do: ‘ I did X and Y, and next I’m going to Z’. All the way up to musk and his Earth-shattering levels of hubris.
