So today's fun jolly was learning how to use pgfplots tables to typeset heat maps for CSV data. (supplements the scatter plot with regions to highlight interesting data)

pgfplots is a powerful tool, that for many simple analyses I required, does well and not require python scripting nor ggnuplot or mathplotlib.

A lot bloody easier than excel ;-)
