“So, what do you do for a living?”
“I paint confetti.
I’m in the Yellow Department.”
Me when I don’t have the social battery for small talk.

@Strandjunker I do something with computers works well too
@Strandjunker tax auditor, generally puts a dead stop to the conversation best said in a flat monotone with overly extended direct eye contact
@curiously @Strandjunker I love to tell people I’m an accountant. I am not an accountant. But they never ask a second question. https://youtu.be/G_GFz2WkQSA?si=PfQScJuNkCmpwfbc
there's gonna be somebody who's interested and has questions . . .
Me: Ha!
So it's YOU!
AJ: Sorry, who are you??
Me: I'm the guy who works in the Confetti Flattening Department; who gets to press and iron all the yellow confetti which has uneven paint application, and thus curls up beyond the published acceptable curvature limits.
Did you know that excess curvature (unless professionally corrected) can cause erratic flight characteristics? Particularly when the initial motion impetus is imparted in the typical use case scenario where the tosser is in a heightened emotional state, or inebriated …
Where are you going …
@Strandjunker Do you think they ever get to have a day in a different color? Or is this just like 50 years heads down.
@Strandjunker ::puts sign on desk:: Confetti Paint Dept - Polka Dot Section.
@Strandjunker Would be so much fun if smalltalk could be this absurd and parody-like. I'm not sure I could intiate this myself but I'd like to go along for the ride.
