Looking past Trump, here is what I want: I want politicians to understand that the political order that used to govern the United States is now dead, and to use that for the good of the actual people

I don't want to hear that we can't do universal healthcare because the insurance companies and blah blah blah, fuck the insurance companies, do universal healthcare without them

I don't want to hear that the second amendment means we have to have daily mass shootings, if Trump can argue that the plain text of the fourteenth amendment doesn't mean what it clearly says, then you can argue that "well regulated militia" actually means something

I don't want to hear whatever this year's excuse for why we need to transfer more wealth to rich people is, the verdict is in, this has been an awful policy for decades that has hurt basically everyone, I don't give a shit how much money rich people spend complaining, do wealth transfer in the opposite direction

"Tough on crime" and "war on drugs" have always been bullshit, some people hated law enforcement before but basically everyone hates them now, this is a good time to end that shit and spend money on things that help people, not oppress them

Lean in to the "Department of War" nonsense, spending more money than God has on "Defense" was bad but they had arguments for it, but who really actually wants to spend so much money on war, cut that shit

Exactly zero people are excited about all the companies rolling into one like some kind of hellish capitalist Katamari, I don't care if the CEOs came to your inauguration, get out that trust busting axe, everyone will cheer you on

IDGAF about any kind of immunity anyone supposedly has because they get a government paycheck, end that shit with laws, and prosecute the violent and the corrupt

I will no longer accept excuses that you are not doing things because they are not politically possible, we have ample evidence that this is no longer a thing: if you continue to not do them, we know it's because you don't want to, and you can fuck off so that we can have representatives who actually want to make this country better
