Jan 8, 2026, 12:13 PM@skylark13 Maybe it's model dependent then? My NAS is idle for 99% of the time (unless I'm actively using it or overnight maintenance tasks run), but it's seeking every 2 to 4 seconds, constantly. I was very annoyed by this, but eventually it just becomes background noise.
Jan 8, 2026, 12:18 PM@wolfpld Not sure. To be clear, the constant seeking I'm talking about that worries me is really constant, not intermittent every few seconds. Imagine the sound a hard drive makes when you're starting your system, it's like that all the time. It may still be seeking every few seconds when I stop the seeding, I just don't notice anymore because the difference is so stark.
