    NAS update:

    Finally built my own to replace the old QNAP which was too limiting for what I wanted to do with it (which is: replace a lot of external services for me and my family).

    I got a nice ITX motherboard with CPU, 6 SATA ports, PCIe x4 and 2x2.5gbe (paid for the N100 version, but got upgraded to the N150 for free, nice bonus!). With a 500GB m.2 SSD and 16GB DDR5 RAM, it runs really well. I used a Jonsbo N2 case, I like the form factor. Specs in 3rd pic alt text.

    My new NAS (Jonsbo N2 case seen from the front)
    My new NAS with the front drive cover removed (we see four drives, all WD Red Plus 4TB, with a 5th spot free for future expansion)
    A view of the inside of my new NAS. Hopefully my choice of hardware will combine good performance and low power draw.

Specs:
* CWWK CW-NAS-ADLN-K N150 NAS ITS motherboard (chosen because compared to other models, instead of a ridiculous 4x 2.5gbe and the JMB585 SATA controller which prevents the board from idling in low c-states, it has 2x 2.5gbe, 1x PCIe x4 and the ASM1166 SATA controller)
* Jonsbo CPU fan
* T.F.SKYWINDINTL 300W SFX Power Supply
* Crucial M.2 SSD
* PCIe x4 card with 2 USB 3.2 gen 2 Type A ports and 2 USB C ports (one of each on the front panel and the rear half-height bracket).

Yes, my cable management could be better. But the space above the CPU fan and towards the back is free, which is where most of the airflow should pass.
