#emacs I am thinking of migrating away from RMAIL finally and switch to an imap based thing so I can like get my tickets at the airport without having to ssh into my cloud emacs machine. Any recommendations other than Gnus which I don't like?

@acowley so I got it going to notmuch with dovecot and iSync and for the first time I am able to read same email on phone and in emacs. Soon I will be able to travel without lugging around the Linux laptop

@jayalane Awesome! I’ve ended up using lieer to sync with Gmail, but, yeah, before imap I found it really hard to keep emacs in my email loop.

@jayalane A lot of clients are annoying in that you have to run an external program to fetch your mail and download them locally (which of course has advantages as well, but can run into race-conditions). And anyway, you can have that same setup with Rmail locally, if you configure movemail to use IMAP. If you just want IMAP, check out Wanderlust. But Gnus is fine as well.
