So, a few months ago I suddenly stopped being able to pay for stuff on Google Play (I know, I know).

I thought it was because my bank was being weird (it happens sometimes), but ever since that day I haven't been able to make any purchases on any of Googles' platforms.

A couple of weeks ago, I got an email from them saying that they're changing the region of my Google account to Singapore, which would've been fine if I lived in Singapore, but I live in India and I've never left the country lmao.

Turns out, because I have a vpn on 24/7 on my devices, Google just assumed I live in Singapore and decided to make that switch without consulting with me, and now I can't do any transactions over google play because of that mismatch.

I spent the majority of today trying to get support for this issue, but I've just been stonewalled the whole time.

The two times I managed to get in touch with a human through this ordeal ended up with emails that pretty much amounted to "we can't do anything, just make sure your google play matches the country you live in lmao".

Anyway, this is just reaffirming my decision to degoogle various parts of my life over the years. Definitely super happy that I'm not overly reliant on Google to get stuff done.
