Hmm I wonder if there's a good rust crate for handling thumb stick input? I've been prototyping with WASD and it's kind of a bummer because you lose magnitude that way. Before I start working on Minute 3 of game play I should probably figure out a way to deploy to a steam deck(?) for testing or plug in a USB controller and find a crate that handles it. If anyone has experience with this dilemma let me know!
Whenever I need gamedev inspiration I look at Earthbound SNES. Is it crazy to make a game which has its own interpreter baked inside it? No! It's freaking awesome.
`...“Whoa, almost sounds like a CPU!” In fact, using a simple hack Rufus made a while back to allow the scripting system to access any memory address, it would theoretically be possible to write an emulator just using EarthBound’s text system.

I see lots of people talking about Omarchy. I had no idea what that was. So I finally googled it. Apparently its a Linux OS that requires you to feed all of your issues and usages to an AI provider or something?
Am I crazy or is this a really bad idea? #infosec
I have mixed feelings about pride this year. Woah chill not like that. I am a fan of it and I'm an ally. My wife is volunteering this year, maybe I will too if I'm not filling out applications.
Is it bad for someone who is more or less cis hetero is to volunteer for pride? I used to go to gay bars a lot to support my friends brother doing drag and stuff. Maybe I'm less cis hetero then the average cis hetero person is but thats where I am. Am I safe enough of a person to be in that space? Idk.
I am shaking. I just had a good 2nd interview at a dream company. Please put good vibes, juju, whatever in the air for me yalls. Wishing the fediverse the best. I hope we all have some good luck this week. We all deserve it!
Saw this on another social and got a kick out of it.
Random question. Does anonymous still do hacktivism? 10-15 years ago it was a huge talking point with the occupy wallstreet movement, etc. Then Trump got elected and it seemed like most of the Anonymous people were happy and stopped. Was/is Anonymous cover for exactly these types of things? Or do they still do things to try and make the world better?
Hi!
I was laid off and am looking for remote work before my unemployment runs out. I am a US based software engineer(rust, angular, C#, python, etc) that doubles as a data scientist (chemical, computer vision, sensors, and normal data stuff). I have about 10yrs of industry experience and have a Ph.D doing data science.
I've given invited lectures, and consulted for a CV company. People say I am good with people and am nice so I am open to peopley roles too. Please boost <3
Its really hot today on the US east coast. I hope everyone has ways to stay cool because yick! Please check in on your loved ones peoples.
Also like, I have an interview! The downside is I have to show how I use AI to accelerate my work. Not 100% sure how to say that I more or less don't use it and that accelerates me. I guess I have to learn how peoples be doin the ai thing.
Hi I am new to Mastodon, I don't really know what I am doing here yet. Does anyone know of any cool nonprofits or gamedev people to follow? Currently my feed is just the internet archive. I love that, but it might not lead to a very satisfying experience.
