The HomeView is $299. A year ago you could get a the normal iPad (much larger screen) for less than that new (now its $449).
I’ve long used iPads in the kitchen, the screen is great both for recipes and for entertainment (like watching YouTube while cooking).
Given that screens are currently probably the least affected from AI hype computer component crisis, I’m not sure why they didn’t put a larger 4:3 one on there (or make it an option).
If it’s for the kitchen, a lot of people will want to watch cooking videos.
So it seems like the thing is a not very good speaker, a not very good iPad, a not very good videophone and a not very good smart home controller.
Honestly I don’t get why Apple wouldn’t buy HomeAssistant and merge it with their technologies to make it the most amazing thing ever (keep it open source like with WebKit, so other people can build on it).

To clarify here I’m for people being themselves, and for “getting political” if there’s real actual grievances especially when connected to whatever the vjdeo js about (e.g. for a tech video that could be xenophobia-driven tariffs or lack of masking at conferences).
But full-on religious proselytizing is unacceptable. GTFO with that shit.

No one cares, dude. You're just not that important to anyone as you think you are.
I personally really don’t care if anyone goes “back to Twitter”, but those 5,000 word rationalizing brain dump apologia blog posts about it are truly a new low.
What language do you speak best? (Hypothesis: There are many French & German speakers in the Fediverse.)
:fediverse: Boosts appreciated!

If you’re unsure of voting, reminder that inaction and apathy got Republicans elected; leading to literally millions of people dying as a direct consequence.
The “pro-life” party’s policies are forecast to be responsible for 14 million dead, including 3.5 million children in this decade.

Here at the convergence of International Spreadsheet Day, the 15th anniversary of Steve Jobs's death, and the 1st anniversary of Stone Tools, it's time to break out one of the big guns.
Lotus Improv holds a semi-mythical status amongst the computing faithful. Heck, the first time I experienced it, it literally gave me the idea to start this blog, "I need to talk about this."
How well does the origin of the pivot table hold up in a world of pivot tables? It's... well...
