For the people who are planning the #50501Movement, I have a question: what are your goals for this protest? What do you hope to accomplish? If the general sentiment is just “Trump fascism bad” as opposed to “better way is possible”, then all you will get in the end is a lot of resentful people willing to complain about the declining status quo, but not otherwise motivated to change it.

Can you believe how many people actually, unironically believe China is fascist? I mean, you could say that about Russia and be technically right. But not China, with its collectivised farms, worker-owned companies, and occasional execution of billionaires who break the law. But you can’t correct people on the facts if they refuse to even entertain the possibility they are misinformed.

A sad thing about all the people who’ve accused me of being paid by this or that government of a so-called “bad country” is that I *wish* I were fuсking paid…because at least someone in the world would thank me for my fact-checking.

It does not make sense to me that we could have simultaneously an excess of housing *and* a rising #homeless population. Just put the homeless people in the empty housing and call it a day. And if some housing speculators and investors should happen to lose money…well, they knew the risks, didn’t they? They could really learn some of that #FiscalResponsibility they’re always going on about.

Usually, when coups happen, the people rioting are unhappy with their current government and wish to install a new one in the hopes of a better future. The Insurrectionists stormed the Capitol—and only the Capitol; no other government buildings were targeted—to…fuck around and find out. Literally. And also hang Mike Pence (which I actually approve because I hate his fucking guts, but I digress).

It’s hard to call the #CapitolInsurrection an “insurrection” because, as far as attempted coups go, this one was very, very stupid. What even was the plan? Break and enter into the Capitol building for shits and giggles? A few idiots took zipties inside presumably with the intention of taking hostages, but throughout the whole thing, not one single coherent demand was made.

Not *that* much has changed, actually. The entire world already knows that the POTUS is de-facto immune from prosecution. But now, it’s been made explicitly so by a ruling from the highest court in the country. There’s no plausible deniability anymore.

I never thought this day would come, that the #SCOTUS would actually rule that the President of the United States has absolute immunity from prosecution.

It’s insane how much we rely on telecoms services working 100% of the time for absolutely everything, or else it all grinds to a halt. During that outage that AM/FM radio became the only connection to the outside world. Unlike the Internet (or even television), you can’t pick and choose the information you want; you have to sit through whatever programmes the station is scheduled to broadcast and just hope the news comes up next.

There was a cell service #outage in America today? Well, that must have sucked.

There was such an outage last year here in most of Canada where nearly all forms of modern communications—wireless Internet, cell networks, even landline telephone—mysteriously went offline for a whole day with the sole exception of the radio, which was the only way to know what was even happening.
