What language do you speak best? (Hypothesis: There are many French & German speakers in the Fediverse.)

:fediverse: Boosts appreciated!

I wonder, how many #Czech language users are on Fediverse and especially among my followers (but you can boost to increase reach).

My estimate is about 2000 users total (1000 on .cz instance, 1000 on global and selfhosted)

Hanging out with an old friend from college has gotten me looking at some old photos.

There have been some gems, and then

Someone had bought me this shirt and I proudly wore it, of course

French ***HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS*** are doing anti-fascism better than American adults.

I'm feeling a strong sense of Fremdscham over US citizen inaction as their purported democracy is dismantled publicly around them.

Tell me, Americans: who are the "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" now?

OK, that's unfair. You're burger-eating.

Oh so much this!

I'd go beyond Fediverse for this, but in general, don't learn too much about your heroes. Here on the Fediverse, though, I encountered one new hero: @cstross

@delawen @Netzblockierer @weekendspy that's my motto: people have to have hobbies.

People crave deeply to believe objectively untrue things. A purpose, a meaning. Being part of a plan and a greater whole. An agent of compassion and mercy and salvation. A validating peer group and a party.

It's a rich part of human experience and not usually harmful.

For me it's only a problem when children's fingers bleed. Or when they push up these fraudulent dipshits like Hegseth.

(Decriminalize drugs too)

A documentary about the great plunder of Nepal

They interview the curator of the Rubin Museum in New York, who abruptly leaves

I genuinely do not believe one can be involved in the major western museum space without being complicit in colonialist plunder

Your work literally sustains it
