From this day forth I shall declare the main ingredient of tech bro AI / LLM “koolaid”, as “egojuice”.

From this day forth I shall refer to all the AI / LLM egotistical backseat coders as, “egoders”.

To me, burnout is not necessarily as a result of depression in the conventional sense, but rather that burnout can cause symptoms of depression. I’d imagine it could lead to extreme chemical depression, but for me I don’t think that this is the case. I’m aware of everything that’s happening to me, I’m just stuck.

I intend on repairing my body through these exercises, with the aim to remain accountable–hence this thread. Possibly even to help someone else.

9. If you wake up in the middle of the night (usually between 01:00-03:00). Do not look at your phone or device. The hack to get back to sleep: Close your eyes. Rotate them clockwise then anti clockwise as far as they can comfortably go. Then slowly draw focus towards the tip of your nose. Repeat this until you’re asleep.

The key word/s here is “intend” or “intend to”, nothing demanding such as “will”, “must” or “have to”. Expectation is an unnecessary weight in this context. (5/5)

7. Night rituals: A. Wake up and go to bed at the same time. B. Eat at least 2hrs before bed. C. Stop using devices at least 2hrs before bed. Avoid bright lights or screens in bed.
8. Employ a mind hack to nudge the sleep cycle. This time breathe in for 5sec and out for 7sec for as long as you can. (4/5)

Every day I intend to perform these exercises:

1. Wake up early, go outside and watch the sun rise. This activity resets our circadian rhythm.
2. Decide on one important elective task for the day. Intend on doing it. Everything else is a bonus.
3. Gentle exercise (move) for at least 10min per day. (1/5)

4. Breathe. Focus on breathing in for 5sec and out for 5sec. Start with at least 5min, build up to 20min a day. This nudges our autonomic system out of a looped state, stuck in sympathetic mode. Inhalation and exhalation is synchronized with the function of this system, which oscillates between sympathetic (conscious / manual) and parasympathetic (unconscious / automatic). In modern medicine, this is now being written on a script. There is an app called breath ball which is good. (2/5)

5. Follow a guided meditation program for 10min. Preferably not when you’re too tired. Meditation has been scientifically proven to repair grey matter. Allopathic doctors can prescribe this now, not just your guru.
6. Intend to be outside when the sun goes down, when it gets dark. Onset of darkness signals the body to synchronize our circadian rhythm. It tells our bodies to prepare for the night cycle, and production of melatonin. During sleep cycle our bodies do maintenance tasks. (3/5)

Burnout (thread):

I’m burnt out. I’m not the only one. It sucks. Starting today, I intend to deal with it by implementing a regime of techniques gathered from Dr’s, science, friends and empirical self study.

Symptoms include.

1. Battling to get out of bed.
2. Feeling constantly overwhelmed with debilitating anxiety.
3. Fleeting motivation and constant fatigue.
4. Immense helplessness frustration and anger.
5. Restlessness and sleep issues.
6. Fleeting joy and happiness.

WhatsApp sometimes shows my messages as being from my wife, with her name to my messages in my app. The messages I wrote in my account to a group my wife is not a part of. She’s Windows + android, and I’m Mac + iPhone.

So Meta knows that I’m on the same network as my wife, and since it has no record of me (mostly incognito/logged out), it has determined that I am her. Again, let me clear, IT DISPLAYS HER NAME TO MY MESSAGES IN MY APP.

I’m not that surprised.

Oh my hat ClassicMac is fast! https://github.com/amcchord/ClassicMac

It’s Qemu based with 3D graphics acceleration in Mac OS 9 (G4 emulation). Supports Quadra 800 68040 (Mac OS 7.1-8.1) and PowerPC G4 emulation (Mac OS 8.5-9.2.2).

Qemu is a bit different from the Snow emulator. Snow is closer to actual hardware emulation, so it’s great for testing software talking to hardware type functionality, if that makes sense. https://snowemu.com/

Dump SpaceX shares. SpaceX is a front to slip XAI into a listed company – to beat OpenAI and Anthropic before the AI bubble blows. Everything about this company threatens the environment and is clawing back the progress we’ve made against climate change. Read SpaceX’s IPO document.

Whoop whoop 🙌🏻 ! SpaceX (XAI) to zero! Three two one 💥 #spacex #xai #grift #spacejunk #climatechange #muskcunt

Given the current technological abilities of humans and the scarcity of critical natural resources, it’s not feasible. If we consider one thought as being a unit which costs energy, it would be impossible to gain enough critical mass to bring the costs down below the cost of the human unit vs the artificial one. (3/5)

My immediate thin sliced conclusion is that the numbers would not justify the expense of AI vs human skill. The human brain has evolved over 300000 years. It’s more optimized than a computer could ever be. Its fuel source is environmentally friendly and renewable – its function can be sustainable. (2/5)

I was thinking (oh no, here we go again 😀) about how much energy is required / used to create the artificial function of a thought, and compare that to how much energy is used by a trained human, or animal brain for that matter. I was also thinking about how much energy would be needed for even more complex models of thought processing as more and more useless data clogs every process. (1/5)

My opinion:- It is statistically impossible for the AI movement to succeed at creating a similar form of human or biological intelligence. Humans do not merely grow individually in a linear fashion, but rather collectively through millions of interactions at every stage of biological growth. That includes all interactions with all organisms on this planet. Experiential knowledge and more nuanced aspects such as EQ or other genetic biological forms, cannot practically be replicated. (3/9)

How arrogant the human race is, to believe that it has the ability to create actual intelligence, when it can’t even prevent poverty, suffering and starvation. Not to mention driving it by brute force, motivated purely by ego, money (greed) and politics. Especially by the way in which our fragile environment has been completely disregarded – this is worse than anything before, at a time when we can least afford it. (2/9)

So… I haven’t quite stopped thinking – as opposed to, I was thinking, so. So. Lol.
