I'm very excited about a new personal development! I will be starting GAHT (gender affirming hormone therapy) -- sometimes still called HRT (hormone replacement therapy) -- the beginning of next month. This is for agender-affirming hormone levels. 🏳️‍⚧️

I was going to go with Plume Clinic, but decided instead to go with GenderGP for cost savings reasons and a greater focus on enby and agender people. The one downside is that GenderGP bills every 28 days instead of a specific day of the month, so there will be some months I have to pay the monthly fee twice.

This is good news because I thought I was going to have to wait until January or later, but was able to work out my finances for a much sooner start.

Since I'm still at home recovering from surgery a few days ago, today became the day I began cleaning my 4 years of open Apple Feedback items. I closed appropriate ones, closed items no longer technically relevant, closed items for features I no longer use and thus can't confirm they were addressed, and closed duplicates. I also added additional info to about a dozen old items.

Still have a ways to go on that last effort, but that can be for another day; this person is *tired* from all that work above!

The nice thing is that my Feedback folder is no longer just a junk drawer of items, but now items I want to see addressed in some form. No more overwhelming glassing of the ol' eyeballs when looking at it! 😀

Brrr, it's cold here in northern Colorado: 0C/32F! It'll be the same tomorrow morning. Freeze warnings through tomorrow.

Today it'll get to 14C/57F, tomorrow 23C/73F.

@TwoClownsEating I recently rewatched Darren Aronofsky's debut film Pi from 1998. I had forgotten how epic the soundtrack for the film was, including greats from Autechre, GusGus, Aphex Twin, Orbital, and Banco de Gaia (among others).

Update on my gallbladder removal surgery yesterday.

From my perspective, it went well, although the start time got pushed out 2 hours because the operating room was overbooked. I was glad the surgeon was ok staying late for me, so I wouldn't have to prepare all over again on a future day.

However, from the surgeon perspective, it was a very complex surgery. He did find significant things wrong with the gallbladder, so the surgery was worthwhile. But he hit a number of issues, and the surgery time increased from 1 hr to 1.5 hrs.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and thoughts on my behalf! 💜

Send me pictures of your favorite trees so I can practice drawing them! Especially with root systems visible.

Four (⭐⭐⭐⭐) stars."

Wednesday afternoon is my rather long-awaited gallbladder removal surgery. Fingers crossed it is the easy surgery and recovery that so many people have reported it being!

Does anyone know why it feels right to refer to some large city metropolises (in the USA, at least) as "metro" and others feel completely wrong using that word?

Using my reference points, "Denver metro" and "LA metro" are used regularly, but it's the "Seattle area", "The Bay Area", and "Chicagoland"; "Seattle metro", "San Francisco metro", or "Chicago metro" feel very disquieting.

Watched an amazing BBC TV show called The Jetty recently on britbox.

This is a very immersive experience. You do not get signposts like on-screen text on when things are happening. And you are flipped frequently yet irregularly between periods.

You need to be engaged with this show, which was a breath of fresh air, and you are rewarded for putting in the effort.

After being gaslit for a week from who presented themselves as an awesome sleep medicine doctor, I've purged that specialty from my dance card of things to address. And this time it's for good; no pulmonologist will talk me into trying again. Likewise, I will not engage with the sleep psychologist either.

Unfortunately, as I feared, the light box did cause me great distress due to my light sensitivity (part of my AuDHDness).

And for another AuDHD aspect, having to log my activities into an hourly sleep diary for what would have been a month was causing me so much anxiety it was actually invading my dreams in a very short few days!

I've been recently seeing a lot of news articles that cities and states are raising enforcement efforts on laws such as poor driving skills in order to have a sustained increase in revenue.

But shouldn't we be trying to improve society through changes in behaviors rather than punitive measures? Seems like cities and states are incentivized for citizens to be breaking the rules.

I know it's not that simple, but it still seems like there should be another way.
