Where yesterday gave us a blue morning sky with a golden promise of a good day, this morning brings us.... Gloom!
#AmWorking

@aj one for the Aussies, I think 😊

(Why do I have a feeling I've shared this before?)

One for the trans folks on my feed...

Did you have a good childhood?
(This is inspired by musings on my own childhood)

#trans #poll

Much cooler today, a hint of rain as I grab a ride to the hospital.
Time to see what's up. 😬

A few points of order:

1) if you have brainweasels/brainworms and if you can find me... (Try the Passenger Assist Lounge at Man Pic) Maybe you can hire... The Haj Team! * Cue inspirational music while me & Blåhaj whack brainweasels & other bad brain things*

2) it's still morning. Good morning lovely peoples! 👋

3) DE & NL out of the football thingy (wtf! 😯)

4) wouldn't you like a tasty, tasty crumpet with delicious topping of your choice?

5) I don't think I can think of a 5th thing so, um... Have a good day & Be Excellent to one another.

So. That's a good start to the day.
Got my shift start time wrong and so now lots of panic and an Uber to work.
*frustrated sounds and calling myself stupid, insert sounds here*

Ok, so there's been an influx of New! people into my feed so I guess it's probably time for an #UpdatedIntroduction

I'm Nikki. I live in the North West of the UK near Manchester. I work at Man Pic railway station.
I'm a 40-something trans woman of low repute.

I transitioned at the start of the millennium and boy do I feel the weight of those years 😋

I'm a gamer (mostly Xbox but some Playstation and PC) with a love of Mass Effect and Forza Horizon.
I love losing myself in music. Put headphones on and just vibe with tunes for my mood or place.
I love trains. Since I was a child. I will indulge this here 😊
Space science sparks joy and intrigue. I enjoy hearing folks talk stars, planets, astronomy, astrophysics and more.
Weather nerd for tornados and hurricanes.
Geology nerd for earthquakes and volcanos.

I'm a lousy socializer. You'll get a flurry of messages and chat and then I'll go quiet for ages and pick up right where we left off months/years later.

I care about my friends and acquaintances very much. There will be hugs.

Feel free to jump in, say hi.

No tolerance for TERFs or SWERFs. 🚫

Good morning folks. Finally, back to it. RTW later.
Am actually nervous about how today's gonna go as the blockade continues and I still don't have a grasp on the practicalities.
Soon find out 'eh?

Have we reached Peak Slop?
How much Slop is too much?: The Microsoft conundrum

Frankly, a chipper paperclip pissed users off.
Surely that alone should have given them pause with CrapPilot?

Well. It's the left home anniversary today.
I don't feel it so bad (mostly - although some years are better than others).

24 years ago, I took the biggest leap of my life.
I'd been out for a year to my family and living at home under many restrictions.
I was working for a good company who helped keep me sane and the wages paid for me to spend time away and with friends.
But my mental health was beginning to nosedive.
Living a double life eventually broke me.

So, offered a way out, I took it.
It turned out to be a bad option, that made things a little better before turning a lot worse.
But it did set me free and from there; well I did ok.(I think).

With this post I'm going to consider the anniversary marked, feelings parked and get on with the day.
Time to get to work.
Maybe I'll find Christmas cheer there.

But late but #Advent #Cheesemas on Day 1 brings me Cheddar with Apple, Onion and Sage

Certain members of The Team at work are absolutely evil enough to call me in to the lounge & play "Last Christmas" just to get me (and for the reaction)

Good morning Fedizens! It's gonna be a wild, stormy day.
Mostly, the concern is rain (and lots of it) but gusts of 60-70mph aren't to be trifled with.

Already seeing service changes and pre-emptive cancellations.
Pulled the heavy winter coat out for the first run out of the year... I have a feeling the fleece or softshell won't cut it today.
If you're in any affected area in the UK, please stay safe and preferably hunker down at home or work. Getting home tonight could be interesting.

It's time to sleep here, so Goodnight Fediverse... Wherever you are...

And good luck Jamaica. Hunker down and stay safe 🤞🤞🤞

Uurrghh... 5am and waiting for a bus on a cold, day of drizzle.
My weather app still gives me Tokyo weather as well, and 17°C is *so* appealing to me right now... Definitely cooling off there now but still much nicer than this 😭

@MicroSFF I'm so glad I was able to find a copy... I love that it's a cute, smol book!
Now how do I get it signed? ☺️

@goatsarah I couldn't help think you may have thoughts on this
