accessibility measures can help in unexpected ways. for example, i'm on a very slow internet connection where it takes really long to download an image, but the alt text on fedi is on point, so i can still understand things and have fun
like yes, those onesided "kink contracts" where you sign your body away are cute and all, but isn't it way more fun when everyone gets to add clauses in an attempt to fuck the other partner over at the most funny time?
They gave us a legal system so we could wield the power of nation states against others. Why not use that for kinky shenanigans?
(It wasn't *intentional* that the above examples read like a continuous story, but it's certainly not unwelcome, either)
People should do more kink things with contracts and legal shenanigans. Just think of the options!
It was literally made for bratting, from both top and bottom.
- "Pff. And who are you? The head of compliance?"
- "Here, sign this." - "What is tha-" - "Don't worry about it kitten,,"
- "Not only do I want you to. You must. According to the ToS you signed without reading."
- "Oh, why should you do that? Appendix 2, section 4, subsection 1, clauses 2-6" - *frantic shuffling through paper*
Gerade getestet der untere Strichcode lässt einen immer raus 😁

The way computer security works in 2026:
queers go to congress and demonstrate multiple serious exploits against actual security software. the maintainers deny there’s a problem. nobody pays attention except other queers at congress
OpenAI finds a bug which could, hypothetically, in a very difficult-to-orchestrate attack and in the absence of already-existing mitigations, have a security implication. the entire industry has an overnight meltdown. coverage on national news stations worldwide. meanwhile, nobody is provably able to actually make it work as an exploit
This time last year: Halloween is approaching, so let's make it a little harder to sleep at night 😈😘
@kevin tbh. i orginally thought that your post was satire. A good joke—but reading the comments, you seem to be serious.
Typst is not perfect. It is still maintained for a commercial product (at least it is maintained thoo), but it is significantly easier to use, faster and has a far more readable syntax imho, with fewer quirks than TeX. And the compiler errors actually make sense.
Having used both typst and LaTeX very extensively, I'm happy for the more modern alternative we have now.

If anyone thinks romance is dead, my aunt (80) always wanted a house with a mountain view so my uncle (83) taught himself to paint so he could give her one

OH MY GOD
I realized why the vibecoder software can be "like a home cooked meal" bothers me so much https://bradfrost.com/links/post/an-app-can-be-a-home-cooked-meal/
IT'S THE STEAMED HAMS SKETCH
Someone says they're making you a home cooked meal and then they plop a Krusty Burger on your plate and call it a family recipe they made themselves
are there alternatives to forgejo that are not gitlab and can be deployed in an HA configuration? being able to only have one instance really doesn't mesh well with my "i will just randomly reboot my servers whenever i feel like it" appraoch
Anyone want to do a (fun, casual) photoshoot at the weekend? It’s been too long for me, and I should get back in the habit of taking photos :neocat:
Berlin preferred but maybe I could travel for the day!
Boosts welcome
Gonna end up citing CCC talks for my bachelor thesis
not to hijack a friend's post but my blood pressure improved drastically in the last few years. What's my secret? Well I started going to a different doctor's office that had the doctor leave the room and let it test me three times.
THE ONLY DIFFERENCE.
and he said, "it's been proven clinically that if the doctor stands there, people's blood pressure is higher, so i have to leave"
instead of rude person taking my blood pressure with the cuff that is too small, and only taking it once. WHO KNEW
the fatphobic blood pressure dance does not have to happen! it is not necessary!
sometimes i would test okay but they would squint at it and go "that's not right, it must not be tight enough" but actually my bp is on the normal to low side
now extrapolate that to the rest of fat care and you can see how fucked it is
We are currently clean on OPSEC.
