Ugh, Texas is currently giving hell a run for its money, and my a/c isn't keeping up. It's been over 100F all week, with no sign of letting up. It's hard to sleep at night, and every afternoon at around 4pm, it starts getting hot enough inside to sweat even with the a/c at max. It stays hot enough to sweat until about 2am. I feel like I'm wilted like the plants in my yard. I need to move somewhere cold and never come back here.

@hosford42 despite what I believe were vocal protests. My parents left Austin when I was a couple months old. I love it more every time I get back, I'd move back yesterday if I wasn't so committed to leaving the united states of persecution.

    That sucks, man.
I have a large rectangle ice pack & a couple other sizes & shapes in the freezer.
Sleeping w the flat one on my hairline, neck & upper back brought me relief.
Stick it back in the freezer first thing.

I lived in the Denver area (latitude: 40 degrees north) for a long time.

Then moved to the Pacific Northwest (latitude: 45.5 degrees north), to a place with generally milder weather, and lived there for a long time.

Now just about to do a move even farther north in the Pacific Northwest (latitude: 48.5 degrees north) to a place with milder weather still.

I am running away from that horrible fusion reactor in the sky as I get older. I hope it doesn't end with having to go to the Arctic -- I think that'd be *too* cold.

Good luck on the job hunt. I know that stuff is awful, and is indescribably more awful than just a few years ago.
