    So the stolen #bitcoin is now radioactive right? Like stolen bank notes with known serial numbers, worth a fraction of it's notional value. Thus does this hack restricts the liquidity of BC (and whatever else was nicked), therefore pushing the "value" up of remaining transferable BC?
    Was that the point of it? Fuck with crypto people and increase the chaos whilst pushing up the value of their other holdings?

    @coldclimate

    Never seems to work out that way...

    Everyone with bad money needs to drive it into good, by setting bids for 21 million BTC across every exchange, that are automatically adjusted to move up to the latest ATH. Then do nothing else, but watch all the paper bitcoin exchange bullshit breathe its last breath.

    @coldclimate I don't think there's any mechanism to restrict addresses in core blockchain tech (Tether may be different?). Transfers can be halted, but only through exchanges and offboards to the banking systems.
    These funds will quickly be tumbled and split through a slew of addresses and different coins; so it's technically traceable but not very practical to freeze.
    The point of it is most likely to fund a nation state.

    @coldclimate my understanding is a lot of it will go through mixer addresses but the sheer volume of it will be tough to disguise. My guess is that it’ll keep them going for a very long time.
