Oct 22, 2026, 12:50 PMGood morning 🌞 Here’s the beginning of the band I started last night. I really like band #weaving and don’t expect to give it up even when I’ve begun using the larger loom.

@Bikil oh, you’re right. Maybe I could use it to raise money for a trans rights org or something. 🏳️⚧️
Edit: or better yet someone on Mastodon who needs #mutualaid. I welcome suggestions 💕
glitchcake⚡🍰🇵🇸glitchcake@tech.lgbtOct 22, 2026, 3:04 PM@PermaSolarPotter these are beautiful and I've been thinking of them since I saw the first. Is there a set of instructions you like, or something you'd recommend so I can learn this? :D

@glitchcake Thank you! I’m kind of just figuring it out as I go. A weaver friend sent me the mini rigid heddle and a short zine of written instructions which I’m happy to share if you like. But I’m the kind of person who needs to see it done, not just read instructions, so I turned to YouTube. I looked up “mini heddle backstrap weaving.” Here’s one video that really helped. https://youtu.be/kkFHLT-RbJ4
