It's kind of amazing. As a kid I always thought that by the time I reached my relatively advanced age (at this point close enough as dammit to being 140_base 6) I would have settled into my career, been at peace with things, maybe looked forward to retirement.

Other than the last, none of these have happened. In fact, not only have the others _not_ happened, they have failed to happen to a degree that I honestly would not have believed possible. My choice of career path has produced something like the world's simultaneously most boring and most infuriating "Choose Your Own Adventure" book. And "at peace"? Um, <gestures wildly at everything>, no.

On the bright side, I do have a guitar. So at least there's that.

Maybe this is just #monday talking. But what a Monday it has been.
