@ajn142 absolutely. And this was entirely preventable because they reached out to my team before they started this to ask if we could be onsite when the work was being done in case there were any bats that needed help. For free mind you, we’re non-profit volunteers licensed to work with bats. And they went behind our back and did it without us and we just happened to find out when we decided to randomly stop by to assess the site while we were in the area.

This was entirely preventable and now they won’t let us help fix it.

@mycrowgirl that sucks. I love bats from afar (or as far as they naturally choose to stay anyways). I wouldn't wanna be closer, i don't feel like risking rabies (i know they're not any worse than other small wild/feral predators, but i don't wanna hang out too close to those either)

@ajn142 It’s such a shame, and it’s gutting to know that I’m a short ladder away from being able to save them and people are choosing to let them suffer.

I’m licensed/vaccinated, so personally don’t have the same risk levels, but you’re smart to admire wildlife from a respectful distance. 🥰 they feel the same way about people, luckily 🦇🖤
