Oct 16, 2026, 10:47 PM@scrottie nice! i wrote a "runtime" version of type-checking for oo perl that we used at one of my old jobs. basically the goal was to get a backtrace at the place you passed undef or a weird type, instead of the incomprehensible place it might crash later.
it mean that every single method we wrote had some "type-annotation" boilerplate and ended up feeling like "java-in-perl" but it worked surprisingly well. @mcc @program
