@siracusa well, this is comical because I’m running 1.5.0 and do not have those options (I honestly was like “I don’t think I’ve ever seen those two checkboxes before because I’m a UI settings tinkerer and absolutely would have tried them already):

@essemmarr Try the beta? Also, I found those options by clicking the “gear” icon in the lower right corner of a video window, then clicking the paintbrush icon in the upper right.
@siracusa ahhhh, was the gear thing! Edge to edge OFF and docked controls ON gives me what I want: no controls overlapping the content frame, and the controls are permanently visible. Thanks John!
@siracusa kinda utterly mystified why you can only access these under the gear on an open video, really feels like it should just be in the regular-assed settings window, tho
