    > i don’t think we’re intersectional enough. i want to get more intersectional on every level. i don’t want to be at a “queer event” or a “queer community” i want to go to an “event” i want to be part of a “community” where straight and queer people are all mixed up.

I've had some words on this in my drafts for a long while now, on the difference between divergence and diversity and how the queer communities I find myself in are high in divergence but with poor diversity. But yeah, "intersectionality" is the word I was actually looking for here. I say "queer communities" plural because we're the opposite of intersectional; more like neatly *sectioned* into subgroups neatly along the lines of repression.

And the queer hacker/chaos culture in particular, has inherited all of the original gender biases from its "upstream", with very little success at freeing itself from those.¹

I've been in hacker spaces where I was the most feminine person in the room, which is sad. But as a nonbinary person, I've also been in queer hacker spaces where I felt like the most masculine person in the room, which is a painful demonstration of our own lack of diversity.

¹: incidentally, many trans people who got socialized in transphobic channer brainrot have not freed themselves from it, and it shows. Turns out one can be very queer and *intensely* queerphobic at the same time, but many people seem to not have gotten that memo yet.

Oh, and I've completely forgotten, because I'm white as fuck: we're overwhelmingly white as fuck.
