Hi there. I have a question about how to view Alt Text in posts with audio media.
Recently I've uploaded some mp3 files to Mastodon posts, and I was prompted to add Alt Text, which I naturally did (see link below).
But looking back at the posts it's not clear how to view the Alt Text? On images, there's an "Alt" icon in the bottom right corner, but I can't see anything like that on the audio file. I'm using the standard web interface.
Could you try editing the post to add the alt text back in?
There was a bug a while ago which deleted alt text when uploading audio files, and people had to edit them in afterwards.
I'm wondering if that bug has come back. Let me know what happens and I'll try to report this either way.

Sorry for the delay.
When I edit the post, the Alt Text is still there.
So the Alt text is not being deleted, there's just no button to press to read it. ie There's an "Alt" button when the post is in Edit mode, but not when it is in Read mode.
Does it make any difference if you change the alt text and then save the changed version?

Good idea, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. The text is definitely saved, but there's no obvious way to view it.
Are you able to see the "Alt" button on the audio player?
These are all the controls I can see when I hover my mouse over the player.
Ok, thanks for trying, just wanted to rule that out!
I'll try this out myself and report it.
