The Stuart Gross Trail takes you to the summit of Great Pond Mountain. Trees block the view at the actual summit, but there are lots of places along the way with slip rock cliffs where you can see forever. The mountain to the left of center is Blue Hill, and the mountains of Mount Desert Island (Acadia National Park) are on the horizon at the left.
Other than the 1000 foot altitude gain and tangled tree roots, it's a pretty easy trail.

A bench made of a weathered wood plank on three logs sitting on an expanse of smooth rock. It looks down over forests and a series of ponds leading to Penobscot Bay. White puffy clouds dot the blue sky.
