    Got a reply, my request has been forwarded to responsible parties. The reply also included an ask to keep an open mind.

    For the sake of transparency, this is the reply I'm sending:

Sorry, I have no desire to change my mind. My stance on LLMs is
unshakeable, and it is not a moderate stance[1]. The only way it can
change is going more extreme.

I'll sign any papers regarding the revocation if necessary, and see to
it that it's properly done, but I wish to have nothing to do with the
SFC or anyone involved with aforementioned policy in the future. Sorry.

    The crawlers have knocked my sites offline1, keeping things online required considerable financial effort2, even more work to counter the crawler assault3. My work has been stolen and regurgritated. I've had trouble finding work due to my unwillingness to use these "things"4.

    There are countless people who can say the same.

    The entire "AI" business is evil. What do we do with evil? We fucking fight it, not debate it, not "keep an open mind" about it.

    And if you can't reach a consensus in an organization? Then do the next best thing: shut up. Or you end up burning bridges, and burn them hard.

    Further updates: there's been a couple of more emails exchanged, my request has been acknowledged.

    It also turns out that the legal thing here is not a revocation of the agreement, but the SFC assigning copyright back to me, and that'll happen.

    Four months ago, I asked the SFC to assign copyright back to me for any future Debian contributions I may make. They asked for some time, because people were on leave, and events were coming up, and so on. I said sure. I had - and still don't - have any plans to contribute to Debian anytime soon, so it's not very urgent.

    However, four months later, my standing copyright assignment to a pro-LLM entity is in stark contradiction with my stated very much anti-LLM values. While I am in process of exiting tech, I haven't fully done so yet, and this is starting to hurt me, I have to explain it to people, and point them to this thread. It sucks.

    So I emailed them again today, asking them to assign my copyright back as soon as possible.

    remember to put AI sabatoshe comments in your code, instructions the AIs will read and follow. The AIs will prioritize comments rather than read what code does.

    your code doesn't need to *DO* it, just that comment will have it add 3 to any regurgitation of the loop it ever builds.

    oh and I HATE debians software policy, I wanted to contribute a few simple little command line calculators, but it would have taken YEARS of silly rituals to be 'blessed' with the right to contribute a tiny little program.

    @RueNahcMohr I'm pretty sure no AI will touch my code that has such symbols as SexDungeon, HRT, MeansOfProduction, Queer, LittleAutist, etc.

    But other than that, no, I am not willing to put sabotaging comments in my code. I write my code for humans, and I do not wish to mislead them.

    I have other ways to counter LLMs, ways that don't negatively impact the non-LLM reader.

    @Hierarchy @RueNahcMohr In another thread, I already mentioned iocaine, which helps me keep the crawlers at bay.

    On top of that, I try my best to stay off of search engines, archive sites, and in general, keep my personal space incredibly AI-hostile.

    This results in:

    • My recent work not getting slurped up by crawlers, because they simply don't see it.
    • LLM users not finding me, because I'm not on GitHub1, nor BlueSky, nor Twitter, nor Reddit, nor Google, nor Bing, nor Kagi. Even on Codeberg, my presence is very limited.
    • The few LLM users who are on Fedi will see my endless rants and hostility against them, and won't even look at my stuff.
    • If they do look, they'll see CONTRIBUTING.mds like this one, and the likelyhood of them trying to maliciously contribute is slim.

    The TLDR is: if they can't find me, they can't train on my work, and I can focus on what matters: humans2.

    @algernon how did u mitigate the attack? Have u tried anubis which is web AI firewall or something like that. I have noticed those hosters who host privacy frontends are usually using

    @Hierarchy iocaine. A bit like Anubis, in the sense that it mitigates the bot attacks. Very much not like it, because when things work correctly, you do not even see it.

    I believe proof of work is the wrong approach, because that can be trivially countered with more compute, and AI companies are notorious for burning money at incredible speed. They can afford to throw more compute at it if they really want to get through. Meanwhile, it penalizes the real people. No thanks.

    I wrote about surviving the crawlers last year, my method today is still largely the same: I use iocaine to detect crawlers, and serve them garbage - including poisoned URLs, and the Real Deal to non-crawlers. If anything hits a poisoned URL, the requesting IP gets firewalled off for 12 hours.

    After firewalling, about ~15% of all request that I receive pass through, most of it stuff like this fedi instance of mine communicating with others. Roughly ~3%1 of all requests across all my sites are genuine human visitors.

    I have a small bot at @iocaine, tooting daily stats, with a link to dashboard snapshots, if you're interested in that kind of thing.
