I'm preparing to visit southern Florida to care for a sick family member. I'm looking for recent travel safety info. I'm a white adult trans woman, years into transition. I'm a US citizen and people are unlikely to challenge that. My id shows my updated name and gender.

Most of the safety links I've found are old or undated. It looks like my biggest risk is restrooms, and I can minimize the risk by leaving when challenged. Is that right?
