HyperSchool is a HyperCard application for schools to do scheduling, attendance, and grades.
It includes thousands of lines of #HyperTalk code, plus some
C code to interface to a scantron machine and to do simulated annealing
before the user gets old.
Jun 8, 2025, 12:56 PMIt still works (mostly) on https://hcsimulator.com/
Jun 8, 2025, 1:04 PMI kept the "HyperTalk Programming" book all these years.

@dckc heh, reminds me of Magic Cap: http://toastytech.com/guis/mcap.html
No GUI I've ever seen has looked more HyperCard-ish than Magic Cap; maybe unsurprising, since Bill Atkinson worked at General Magic.
@dckc Also, I'm very curious: where did you store the data for this? Was this in the stack itself—like card fields—or external text files/database?
Jun 9, 2025, 12:07 PM@csilverman yes, in the card fields of the stack.
Jun 9, 2025, 12:09 PM@csilverman note that this never went into production.
@dckc imo absolutely superior interface design compared to where we are now, and especially compared to apple’s new announcement.
