Hi from #mci
On my way to #den for some business around https://amia.org/education-events/amplify-informatics-conference
This cascade card wallet is my new #edc .
Does it count as #mayke if I just printed somebody else's design? I guess there is a little #diy aspect: the moving parts need a little convincing when it's fresh off the printer.

me: darn it; I can't log in to this secure file service to get a doc to this tax accountant
me: Is https://scuppernong.net/ too geeky? doesn't hurt to try...
tax acct: yup; I got the doc
bingo!
#grateful to @CryptPad and @bunkcomputer
What's the smallest #community that makes sense for a #fediverse domain? Largest?
Too small and you don't have moderation / governance in case some segment of the world should attack.
Too large and you get insufficient shared values / worldview - witness twitter.
The topic also has an impact: you're less likely to get attacked or have internal strife for, say, cat photos than comments on current events.
@ntnsndr I'm curious if you have a take on this.
I found all the related files and put them on archive.org.
I kept the "HyperTalk Programming" book all these years.

It still works (mostly) on https://hcsimulator.com/
#grateful for Bill Atkinson and #HyperCard
HyperSchool is a HyperCard application for schools to do scheduling, attendance, and grades.
It includes thousands of lines of #HyperTalk code, plus some
C code to interface to a scantron machine and to do simulated annealing
before the user gets old.
Big day today! Step 3: Practice Test for Mojo and me to #volunteer as a #therapy dog.
Searching my fediverse posts isn't as smooth as I'd like.
I'm happy with email search; that's one of the reasons I have github email me my issue comments. (The other is: I don't completely trust most cloud services. https://www.madmode.com/2021/closet-librarian-approach-cloud-services )
A wish: a tool to periodically email me my fediverse postings.
I think it would be fun to build with cloudflare workers

`guix install ungoogled-chromium` took me 6 minutes.
https://asciinema.org/a/699644
I often hesitate to use #guix because, IME, it's noticeably slower than #nix .
How often do folks do `guix pull`? It seems to be necessary more often than the #nix equivalent (which I don't even know what it is cuz I never have to do it.)
And the grafts... though I was never satisfied with the #nix #security story https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/13515
