I'm at the hospital right now for an outpatient appointment (don't worry, nothing serious). Even though I had my covid jab a little over 2 weeks ago and my flu jab a couple of weeks before that and am probably maximally protected round about now, it just seems like basic common decency to wear a mask.
I am so far the only person I have seen, patient or staff, doing so.
WTF is wrong with people? It's a hospital, FFS.
Also, it's really about time European leaders wake up to the reality that the US is no longer an ally of Europe. The US is making no secret of being an ally of Russia, at a time when Russia is invading Europe.
Yes, this is tough to deal with, and I don't know how we deal with it, but the sooner we admit that we need to, the sooner we can figure it out.
That's not how you spell "war criminal"
Lawyer does something dodgy to try to get their client off paying a fine. Hold the front page.
But now that the BBC has learned how to do undercover investigations into dodgy solicitors, perhaps they could take a few weeks off their campaign to demonise immigrants and investigate how tax lawyers help the rich and powerful fiddle their taxes?
Isn't it weird how their undercover investigations have rather selective targeting?
"Move signals Andy Burnham’s commitment to North Sea industry but threatens to undermine Labour’s green credentials"
"undermine" is not how you normally spell "completely blow out of the water"
Andy Burn'em living up to his name, I see.

I'm not sure why #BadEnoch thinks that anyone should take the Tories even remotely seriously when they talk about national security after the Russia Report, which, let's not forget, the Tories tried hard to suppress, found that the Tory government just let Russia interfere in our democracy without taking the slightest bit of interest in doing anything about it.
RIP Jeffrey Archer, a true conviction politician.
He got 2 years, IIRC.
Because nothing says "I'm innocent" quite like going to a lot of trouble and expense to try to stop the evidence in the case being admissible in court
This whole #FlyDubai incident really is extraordinary.
Would it be too tinfoil hat to wonder if it's just a bit too extraordinary?
The idea that a government would stage something like this would definitely be in tinfoil hat territory for most governments, but Israel? I'm not sure I'd put anything past them.
Christ, the US is an utterly barbaric country. It's like they haven't moved on from mediaeval times.
Oh wow, are bare nails trendy? I've been doing them for decades, and I've never even been to a nail salon.
Who knew I was so trendy?
As the article says, you won't find it online, but if you want to find a showing of the film near you, then this is the link you need.
Good article about the Peoples Emergency Briefing. Have you seen it yet? If not, you should. And even better if you take friends or relatives with you who may not yet have realised just how serious the threat of climate change is.

So the recordings failed for a couple of things I wanted to watch on the telly recently and I had to watch them on ITVX, complete with all the adverts. Not something I'd usually see.
And I noticed: there sure are a lot of adverts for supermarkets, aren't there?
And that got me thinking: why?
So please help me out here by telling me how you choose a supermarket.
Which supermarket do you shop at most often?
(Boosts for extra reach appreciated)
This seems like a positive development.
Anyway, best not say any more about it, wouldn't want to prejudice any trial.

"Tories would prevent long-term jobless spending benefits on alcohol and cigarettes"
If they actually wanted that scheme to work, the systems they would have to bring in would be so complex and expensive that I'm pretty sure it would be cheaper just to send each job seeker a bottle of 12-year-old single malt whisky once a week on top of their benefits.
But it's not about saving money, is it? It''s just about stigmatising the poor.
Pretty sure that slashing a dinghy with a knife while there is an emergency worker on board is illegal.
I do hope Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary take this seriously.
Pleased to see that Burnham has recognised that Russian interference with our democracy is a genuine threat, but at the moment it's just words. We need to see what he actually does about it.
And if he stops all the Russian disinformation but continues peddling the Kremlin lines about how all immigrants are the main threat to us himself, then I'm not sure how much that's going to help.
So we're sending British military forces to join in a war on the side of Saudi Arabia, a brutally repressive authoritarian regime that murders journalists, but we can't send British military forces to join in a war on the side of Ukraine, a country that is literally defending Europe against an existential threat?
Please make it make sense.
