How many properties does #DougFord still own in Florida? Two?

Mr. McDaniel Jr., Thank You!
May your decency to your neighbours spread among the American people.
Well, this is disturbing from a labour rights perspective.
Mandating binding arbitration before a strike kind of intrinsically means there will be no ability to strike. The arbitrated solution is, after all, binding, meaning both sides must abide by it.
How do you strike if you MUST abide with an arbitrated settlement?
Well, on first blush, the bond market seems to like The Fed's decision to hike rates in the US by 25 basis points.
The question is, what will Trump do?
He'd pledged to tariff the entire planet if The Fed raised rates, an action that would itself increase the inflation that The Fed is trying to fight with the rate increase.

For everyone that screams "25th AMENDMENT NOW!!!" all the time about #Trump, I'd like you to consider, for a moment, the consequences of that:
- #JDVance was installed as the VP Candidate as a result of a deal between Trump and #PeterThiel
- Peter Thiel & JD Vance are ardent followers of #CurtisYarvin, who advocates for Techno Feudalism, essentially a return to medieval times where nobility owned manors complete with resident serfs
- The Office of the President of the United States has been vested with unitary powers via Supreme Court decisions and congressional indifference that would make the founding fathers sick
What do you think a JD Vance presidency would look like given that?
For all of the focus on building another Trans Mountain pipeline or another Coastal GasLink pipeline across BC, if Canada wanted to service Europe with its "Energy" products, wouldn't it make more sense to build a pipeline to Churchill, MB?
(Note, because we're quickly exiting the age of fossil fuels and have already entered the age of electricity I am not actually advocating this position, but it makes more economic sense than increasing the capacity of pipelines that aren't near their current capacity yet and which already service Asia which itself is rapidly electrifying. Canada's "fossil fuel energy" economy will only be economically viable for, like, 10 or 15 more years, TOPS!)

Ahhh crap!
Agreed! What an amazing woman! One in a billion, to be sure!
She will be missed.

Look at that, just one day & "#CaptainCanada", #DougFord, has already reverted to form calling for "a deal" with Donald Trump.
Dougie just doesn't get it!
THERE IS NO DEAL TO BE HAD! THERE NEVER WAS!THERE IS ONLY CAPITULATION!
Doug Ford is a bully, just like #Trump. Ford thinks he can make a deal with Trump b/c he sees himself as an equal to Trump - fellow bullies, fellow "winners". Ford cannot fathom that Trump doesn't give a shit about him, that he is just another chump.
As much as I disagree with #MarkCarney, his strategy of using time to his advantage is working! Ford doesn't understand this because his attitude is to bully - get what he wants now, no tact, no considering consequences.
Ford is getting a lot of attention and praise internationally because of his bellicose statements, but those non-locals are merely cheering the sentiment and do not that Ford is playing both sides.

A reminder that this is the same guy that at various times:
- Praised the election of Trump because "he's a great guy, a guy I can strike a deal with"
- Declared that he hated trump
- Has sourced Ontario infrastructure from American companies, including nuclear reactors (which we build) that will need American supplied enriched uranium
- Has travelled extensively within the US over the last 2 years to "drive up business"
- Has said that Carney NEEDS to sign a deal with Trump
- Now says Trump can "kiss my ass"
Don't let his populist shtick fool you, #DougFord is not on #TeamCanada, he's on Team Money and is sticking with #Canada only for as long as the interest are aligned. As described above, he'll drop the #CaptainCanada shtick the moment that his it is more profitable to do so, and jump right back into the arms of the Americans.
For those that, for some reason, are surprised by the American accusation that "Canada added conditions at the last minute":
Recall exactly one month ago when it was reported that Trump had signed a deal to give the Saudi's nuclear power tech and three days AFTER the deal had been signed, upon being reminded of the his "Abraham Accords" during one of his televised salons, declared that for the deal to proceed they as well must sign the accords.
This was three days AFTER he signed the deal.
The ink from his Presidential Sharpies hasn't even dried yet!
- Poll -
Given that, who do you think it was that "added conditions at the last minute"?

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" ~Arthur C. Clarke
Ever since I was young I accepted that, thinking "yeah, how many people really know how their cell phones or computers work?".
Throughout the several careers that I've held in my short life so far I've become ever more alarmed with the depths of peoples "it must be magic" or "its just a black box" explanations for seemingly ever more basic things.
As soon as something gets automated, further generations become baselined to that reality and seemingly become ignorant to how it works.
I've seen this with things like door locks. DOOR LOCKS!
"I just punch in the code and the door opens, what do you mean it needs a battery? There is a key hole? There was a key? I was supposed to keep that key?" was a conversation I've had with someone regarding their front door deadbolt.

"Liberal politicians like ... Doug Ford"
I blurt out laughing and scared my dog.
Clearly Jivani is staking out the "Canada should be the 51st state" position.
Good that Carney didn't cave.
But, we shouldn't match the US's tariffs dollar for dollar - that would cost Canadians.
We should apply export tariffs on goods being sent to the US, with the money going to support impacted Canadian producers.
Canadians shouldn't lose because of Trump's stupidity. Americans should!
This is what politics in #Ontario used to be like:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xsLXuUEqbI
Harsh, but there was respect, boundaries, and decency.
As a former Queen's Park political Opposition Researcher myself, I did some questionable things to dig up dirt on the Leader of the Opposition and the Leaders of the Third Party.
Never this though:
Under #DougFord, they stalked the Leader of His Majesties Loyal Opposition all the way to Jamaica, and then charged Taxpayers to boot!
This is simply beyond the pale! A new low!
Next we'll find out the Ontario #Conservative Party bugged the offices of the other parties, or tapped their phone lines.
(Knowing about the built form and the IT infrastructure, such that it was >10 years ago, this wouldn't actually be hard to do! If I were the ONDP or the OLP I would have my offices swept for bugs & would demand Legislative IT have physically segregated networks for all the parties, not just VLANS!)
I used to work in Opposition Research at Queen's Park.
I did some questionable stuff that I will not be talking about on here.
At no point would we EVER have considered stalking an opposition MPP or Leader internationally.
The hypocrisy of the #Ontario #Conservative Party to, at the same time, claim that politicians deserve privacy and that they cannot release Doug Ford's private phone records (on which he conducts public business which is against the law) while at the same time STALKING OPPOSITION MPP's INTERNATIONALLY!
These people are sick!
They clearly have no qualms with breaking the law, breaking norms, breaking common decency in their quest for ever more power and money.
#ONPoli #Ontario #Corruption #DougFord #NeverVoteConservative
This is the definition of insanity.
We've tried this several times already and it hasn't worked, but perhaps this time it will.
No it will not!
Every single time #Canada has made a concession with the #US on #CUSMA (#USMCA) #DonaldTrump has found some other pretext to #Tariff us again.
#MarkCarney, STOP MAKING CONCESSIONS!

Meanwhile in #Ontario, despite the swell of medical professionals seeking to relocate to #Canada, #DougFord and #SylviaJones have managed to make access to care worse while shifting care from the "evil and wasteful" public system to the "well run, efficient" private sector.
Perhaps it's worth considering moving to BC intra-Canada too!
I do not know of a democratic governing administration, anywhere in the world, that has taken unilateral action in order to increase their term of office.
... Except in #Ontario.
I wonder when the people of Ontario will wake up to the fact that an autocrat is sitting in the Premiers Office at Queen's Park.
