I don't like photographing strangers wihtout their consent, and that goes triple for children, so I tried to get shots without. But the community turned out in their thousands. It was packed full of delighted families and folk of all kinds.

Get this: You can just go in there and have a look through 92,000 books and just borrow one or a few, and they don't even charge you. I mean you can also use their 3D Printers and sewing machines and computers and all that stuff, but they also have like a million (92,000) books you can read for free. Our new library is absolutely beautiful.
I've never really felt civic pride, in any of the many towns and cities I've lived in, but this is great. A big investment in things that matter.

My town had an opening day celebration for the new library and they closed off the street and provided a ton of coloured chalk so the kids could draw on it.
