And no should definitely be a word in a parents vocabulary, but there is punishment, and then there is abuse. If your child is being "disruptive," yes, perhaps a punishment is in order, but some things just shouldn't be done. Kneeling on rice, that is definitely one of them. Subjecting anyone, let alone a child, to extended periods of pain is simpley torcher/abuse, know matter the case there in.
