    to be clear for an existing community there are exactly 2 options:

    1. you convince them to ban the slop

    2. you create a new splinter community that bans slop

    there is no coexistence with sloppers in the same community because they will drown out all the non-slop until all you've got left is slop

    and frankly with how little backbone is being displayed by community leaders and how many of them are embracing the slop, #1 is probably a losing battle

    @eniko academia can police plagiarism well enough, and it's really easy to do, so why not this?

    I think it's probably easy to create slop free spaces like game jams, because there's enough people who would like to join such spaces, and they understand using AI would ruin the whole thing.

    @eniko the former option also has the unfortunate risk of sloppers escalating vocally and violently. They have doxxed people before, and I understand every community leader that *quits* instead of trying to face people with vastly more budget and hatred.

    I do not understand just pretending it's no problem and continuing as is though.

    @eniko loving some of these "you can't stop it, it's inevitable" replies like lol this shit loses billions of dollars and everybody hates it, it is Very Obviously going away once the sucker money runs out

    @ifixcoinops things people very heavily invested in the technology wot lets them pretend to have creative skills without putting in any actual work would say

    like, they desperately need us to get on board with the slopfest so we stop alienating them, because that's the only way for them to get the clout they seek
