@rysiek @ddosecrets But... Uh... I'm playing devil's advocate here, but isn't this just doxxing? Which should be something undesirable whatever your political leaning? Or am I missing something here?
I mean, if someone shared a link to an archive with personal contact information of people helping organising climate marches or No Kings marches or something, that would also be something one would hope would be removed from Bluesky, right?
I'm no fan of Bluesky but this doesn't seem like something bad, per se.

No, your not missing anything. It's the double standard, see? The OP points it out in his last sentence of the first post...
"Remember this excuse next time there is a leak affecting people who happen not to be fascists."

@bammerlaan @clintruin @ddosecrets the double standard, plus the fact that Bluesky knowingly put themselves in a position where they have that much control over stuff that many people see.
Should it be blocked or not? That's a good conversation to have in general. But Bluesky is not having that conversation, Bluesky just decided on behalf of tens of millions of its users, in a way that should not be a thing in an actually decentralized network mind you.

@bammerlaan @rysiek @ddosecrets Could there be such a thing as "ethical" doxxing? Similar to #ethicalhacking ?
If we look at the conflict involving #ICE as hybrid warfare then this is intelligence that would be useful to the other side.
Say if those trying to reduce the damage that ICE is doing to individuals and communities were to find a way to use the legal system to make it difficult for those working for ICE to do their jobs?

@the_wub @rysiek @ddosecrets I mean... Hmm. My gut says no. Ethical doxxing... Because who decides what's ethical?

@bammerlaan @the_wub @ddosecrets we all decide, on our own. That's the thing. Ethical decisions are not easy, if they were easy, we would not be having ethical dilemmas all the time.
The same kind of act can be considered ethical or unethical depending on circumstances.
