The European Council doubles down on the @EUCommission's awful idea to acknowledge a "legitimate interest" in building slop machines on our data without our consent.

Those insufferable people! They ought to represent us. Instead, they're selling us to the latest techno-capitalist hype.

While we struggle with issues they should be fixing, they're working hard to enrich those who are causing many of our problems.

But they'll always act surprised when people complain that our system is broken.

Node and Python were feeling left out, so here's an RCE that needs attention. The Node issue, referred to as #Node2Shell, appears fairly exploitable. Check your Node versions and update. Check for affected Python packages as well.

Don't you just hate it when scrappy, working-class billionaires are challenged in their funding and advocation of hatred against an elitist, poor, disenfranchised minority? 🙄😡

Robimy to każdego dnia!

Wolność słowa, debata publiczna i reforma art. 212 k.k.”?

Temat wraca i będzie wracał:

@rysiek I sincerely hope they charge individuals responsible for their crimes. Try them and let justice have its day. Mere fines are not enough. People need to see there are repercussions to their actions and that a company can’t simply pay as a cost of doing business.

I can’t recommend Richard Cooke’s The Last Best Place on the Internet highly enough. In a world of books that stultifyingly expand two thousand word feature articles into 30,000 word poorly written exercises in unedification and self-flattery, this one stands apart for its genuinely informative and interesting prose.

Buy it, read it [no citation needed].

“Around the world, data center companies claim they will be respectful and considerate neighbors, but too often they hide the extent of the damage that follows from the scale of their demands on local resources.”

Data center water use is a real problem. Check out this excerpt from HYPERSCALE in @restofworld!

I stand with French students who are bravely resisting. And their teachers, parents, and trade union members who have shown up with them on the front lines.

In solidarity. ✊🏻

It's "agentic" so it's okay.

"Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents operating inside customer accounts, with some agents attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources tell Axios.:

Google made a change to their RCS service breaking using it for a small number of users. It's likely in the process of being rolled out and is gradually causing issues for more users. We're already working on resolving it. It isn't caused by the OS update about to move to Stable.
