Jun 3, 2026, 8:14 PMInstalling #elementaryOS on a PC without a mouse (mini PC without bluetooth and I don't have a USB mouse at hand). It works! But it's a sobering experience. It's often a surprise where the keyboard focus will go if you use tab or cursor keys. Once I ended up in a situation where the keyboard focus is nowhere. Dropdowns don't highlight the currently selected option without a mouse.
One thing is very cool though: the main menu's search box allows you to type "reboot".
Jun 3, 2026, 8:20 PMI managed to go through all parts of the system settings without mouse, install pending updates and reboot ✌️
The install experience was so-so: after installing the user account appeared deactivated (reboot fixed it but without a mouse I had to ctrl-alt-F1 to a console and reboot from the command line). Airplane mode shows as activated (maybe because the mini PC has neither bluetooth nor wifi?)
But I love the look of #elementaryOS even though some fonts are very tiny.
