Tried @marcoarment’s new Fineliner app, and it’s the first time in a very long time a piece of software has a) delighted me and b) felt like mine the way my paper planner/notebook does.
I love how it helped me make something that looks coherent and has personality despite my near complete lack of artistic ability (after I got over my initial performance anxiety).
One of the most humbling experiences for me, as an imperfect meat-coder, has been seeing the flagship AI models *instantly* find and fix bugs in my code that had eluded me for months or years.
Seeing the stupidity (and quantity) of my own bugs makes it pretty hard to continue to believe that AI code is somehow untrustworthy or low-quality.
AI code has its own shortcomings, but bugginess is FAR lower than human code when you use good models, prompts, and architecture.

Yes. 12 Mini is just about tied (but slightly ahead most days), and 13 Mini is about double.
iPhone Duo currently has more than 140X the Overcast users than the *best* day the Vision Pro ever had in my stats.
Based on its current trajectory, I expect Overcast to have more iPhone Duo users than iPhone Air users within a week… two, tops.

McKinley is a Mac app for making SF Symbols, combining a vector editor, tools that understand symbol weights, smart preview, an export that skips the tedium of converting strokes to paths, and automatic Xcode asset catalog sync.

My favorite CarPlay feature is when it's reading a text message to me and I go to tap the "Done" button and it suddenly turns into a "Call” button underneath my finger and I have to wait for all of the animations to finish before I can actually end the call and then I wonder (a) did the person notice that I called them for a few seconds and (b) do I need to explain that now and (c) are they going to call me back now and (d) HOW DID THIS INTERFACE EVER SHIP oh my god

I opened up Apple Maps' search box and its new ads suggested I go to JetBlue Airways, the JetBlue terminal at JFK airport 39 miles away.
I opened up Google Maps' search box, and 100% of the screen space is devoted to my presets (Home/Work/etc.) and my Recent searches.
Apple continues to embarrass itself with its shitty ad plays.
In the meantime, I'll keep using Google Maps, because it's just *better*, and — something I never thought I'd say — it respects me more as the user, with fewer ads. 🤯
